What Is DHT Baldness
Baldness is a problem with most men as they age. There are different causes for baldness. One of it is attributed to improper maintenance of hair. Some attribute it to the genetics from the maternal grandfather. The latter however is disprove by the recent discoveries showing test results that this problem is not solely passed on by moms to their offsprings. If these factors are not present to you, you should not be so much comfortable now with the idea that this problem will not disturb you later on. This is because there is also a DHT baldness which can trouble any man whether or not this problem is not in his genes. Being a man itself, poses risk of becoming bald. Why? The powerful sex hormone of a man known as DHT (androgenetic alopecia) can trigger the baldness on a man’s head giving him a sort of monk like hair style which is a bald spot right in the middle of the head. How DHT accomplishes this is still under study. What is known so far is that it triggers follicle miniaturization leading to making the hair fragile and thinner and in extreme cases prevents hair from growing back.
In order to prevent this problem and if you want to maintain the youthful look of your hair, it is suggested that you refrain from applying harmful chemicals to your hair that can lead to inflammation of the scalp or in styling it in such a way that would scar the hair follicles such as wearing in a ponytail, or tight hair rollers. If you are planning to apply or take in medication to deal with this problem, it is also advised to see your doctor.
